I photographed a wedding here in 2023, it was my first time shooting here and was blown away. I loved the views of the welsh countryside, they made an awesome backdrop to the couples portraits. The prep house was large and spacious, perfect for large groups getting ready, hair, make up etc. There was no carpark but the fun thing was that all the guests got to ride in a tractor trailer up the hill to the venue.

The venue itself is beautiful with amazing views but the team are outstanding and made our wedding what it was. Everyone was so friendly and seemed genuinely excited for us from the outset. From being shown around for viewings we really felt how much effort they had put into making the venue feel special. Hersey was easy to communicate with via email in terms of planning and offering advice for caterers etc. Once we arrived on the Thursday though we felt right at home and like Hopey and James were long lost friends. They were so enthusiastic and helpful from start to finish and their attention to detail was exceptional. At one point a guest arrived from Scotland and got a flat tyre as they got to the venue. They went above and beyond to jack the car and get the tyre replaced before they set off of the Sunday which was super appreciated. James even brought me a toasted marshmallow at one point knowing I wouldn't have chance to do it myself and was always checking in to make sure we were having the best day possible. Having the option to have friends and family onsite as well was so lovely as we didn't actually get a huge amount of time to speak to them on the day and made the whole process far more relaxed. So many guests said it was the best wedding they has been to and although we're pretty biased we have to agree. I would give the team and venue more than 5 stars if I could and can't thank them enough for the happiest weekend of our lives. Photos by Katie Alexandra Photography who is also amazing.

One of the best wedding venues I have attended. Such a great atmosphere and really liked the rustic feel and look. Views over the Brcon Beacons were amazing. I would definitely recommend this place for your wedding venue.

If you are looking for any sort of farm or country side style wedding, something informal in stunning surroundings there's no need to look further. 🥰 Marcus, Hopey, James, Andrew and all the staff were fantastic. They put us completely at our ease and handled all the prep with laid back confidence. The advice they gave us was spot on... apart from the Espresso Martini welcome drinks, Marcus and I got it wrong BUT thankfully we trusted the Bride who obviously knows her cocktails. Apparently 11:00am is NOT too early for an Espresso Martini! 🍸 The communication over email in the run up was sometimes a challenge. I'm sure they get many many questions from people that have booked a wedding but it was a source of anxiety for us. However from arriving on Thursday morning until we went to bed late Saturday night it was a smooth and stress free experience. Marcus went above and beyond when the mini-bus taxi failed to return for the final pickup. He saved the night by giving my mum, sister and three very tired bridesmaids, a lift home in his own car. The venue is excellent but the family run team makes the experience priceless. We just need an excuse to book again! How soon is too soon to renew your vows? 😆

Wonderful family ran business! We came from Reading for a wedding last Saturday and the experience was great. What a beautiful venue! Will and Marcus were great with everything! Very kind of them to arrange taxis at the end of the night for us English lot that has no idea how difficult a taxi in the middle of no one would be! It was just utterly gorgeous and a perfect day! The tractor ride from the car park to the barn was such a great/unique experience. All the staff I came into contact with were friendly, chatty and helpful! Love every second. Thank you sugar loaf barn!

This gorgeous venue encapsulates everything I think a wedding venue should offer. It’s a family run business, every single person here goes above and beyond to ensure their clients have the best possible wedding. They are also extremely accommodating to suppliers such as myself. I was very well looked after and treated like part of the family. My bride and groom and all their friends and family had a fantastic day here. Let’s not forget to mention the cool transportation from the bottom of the drive way to the barn, the tractor! And the stunning views at the top of the mountain. I recommend ANYONE considering this type of venue to look no further than this one!

Our wedding on 3/09/2022 was everything and more we could have ever planned or dreamed of. This is down to the stunning and impeccable staff at the Sugar Loaf Barn. From start to finish (having booked the venue in 2019) Hersey, James, Marcus and Will were on hand to support and offer guidance whenever we needed it. They made the venue side of our wedding so easy and were up to do whatever we wanted! The venue itself is out of this world - the views, the decor, the feel. If you’re looking for a venue for people to easily move around then this is for you. Our family and friends loved being able to stay in the cottage, safari tents and shepherds huts. The views are out of this world! And to be able to have most of the accommodation from Thurs-Mon let’s you make a proper weekend of it. We can’t thank the team enough (especially Marcus and Hopey aka Wedding Jesus) for making us feel so welcome. You truly felt like you were a part of the wedding party and that’s what we wanted. On a practical level the barn has so much to offer - a great selection of drinks that are also really reasonable, not like your hotel weddings that charge £6 a pint! It already has so many props and lights that means you don’t have to spend an arm or a leg to decorate and it’s suits itself to non-fussy, relaxed weddings. Our guests loved the trailer ride on the way up and haven’t stopped talking about the views. Thank you for making our weekend so special. X

I'd just like to add to my wife's review following my daughter's wedding. Everything about our stay was fantastic. The views are breathtaking and there's a great vibe particulary at sunrise and sunset. All the family and Hopey satisfied our every need. Shepherds huts were fab and you can take your pick depending if you want a beautiful view or seclusion. It was a great day overall with the Sugar Loaf barn playing an integral part.
